I Use Basecamp for My Catering Business :)

Dido Press Shot 1.jpgI love cooking so I started my own catering business last year. The idea was to cater to small business events and parties with around 100-150 guests. This way, we wouldn’t be targeting parties that are too small or too large. I didn’t want to deal with a lot of people meaning a lot of small gigs with not much of a payoff.

One thing I did right is implement Basecamp software thanks to my employee’s advice. I have stored all my catering clients into that software and all the email contacts. With that in place, I sent them updates, stay in touch with them and ask them to fill out a survey of how they liked the food.

In response, my clients love responding through Basecamp and it works out well because now, all the data is in one place. Whenever business is slow for the upcoming months, I send out an email asking for referrals and I usually end up with a couple of gigs for that empty month.
